Dave – Drums

Hello, good evening and welcome …………….

I started playing drums at an early age, about 8 I think. At upper school we had several bands the main ones being Razor Blade and Jade. After leaving school I joined a punk band called Terry Toss and the red hot Wankers, we split and they went on to become the Windups and the 13th Chime. Meanwhile I realised that my craving was for rock so I formed the rock band Revolver, a cracking three piece playing Ozzy, Motorhead, Lizzy, Hendrix and Maiden covers – I played drums with Revolver for several years, giging in Haverhill, Linton, Melford and Sudbury.

I left Revolver for a break, but soon joined another band called Alligator. This kept me busy for a while, but after a handful of gigs we split due to differences in the band.

I gave drums a rest for a while, I even sold my Premier kit. I missed playing, and it was a few years later when I had a birthday party with a live band that I was invited up to play with the band. This made my mind up that I had to get back behind a drum kit.

I bought my Tama drum kit and joined a band doing covers of Queen, The Stones, U2, R.E.M and Aerosmith. A talented bunch with the singer having made 3 albums, we managed 10 gigs and then things slowed down and stopped.

I was desperate to get back into a loud rock band, and so I did a search on the web and saw an advert for ‘drummer wanted for The Fallen rock covers band’. I called Stevie Gardiner and he remembered me from Revolver and asked me along to audition with the band. They wanted me to learn 5 songs and so I learnt 20, I must have done okay as they asked me to join the band.

I love all rock music from Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy and Motorhead through Metallica, Maiden and Guns n Roses to Pantera, Nickleback and Trivium – The Fallen is an excellent rock band, loud and proud, a great bunch of guys who really enjoy rocking together.
