THE FALLEN NEWS 2006 Archive
2006 was a busy year of gigs, new songs, new gear and changes within the band. We started 2006 with storming gigs at The Haymakers in Cambridge, The Black Lion in Glemsford and The Grapes in Bury St Edmunds. We bought some new PA speakers and a new power amp.
In May vocalist Kerry left the band and we quickly recruited Andy MacPherson who debuted at our next gig which was at The Angel in Glemsford. Andy has an excellent voice and has been in many bands. He loves rock, he drinks and enjoys a laugh, a perfect fit for The Fallen.
We did other gigs in Long Melford, Sudbury and Clare. In July Dave tore the artery in his neck and had to take a break for a while. Jason Roberts sat in on drums for the big Santa Pod Raceways gig on 15th July.
Stevie decided he wanted to leave the band to work on his own projects. August started with Nik Sherriff joining the band on lead guitar – demon guitarist who can play anything – Nik loves rock and fitted in from day one.
We played a charity gig at The Angel in Glemsford on August 5th, Andy and Nik now working well, Jason sat in on drums again as Dave was still not 100% Dave was back behind the kit for The Compasses gig at the end of August. A great gig with the line-up now complete. We bought ourselves a new mixing-desk and added some new songs to the set list.
In September we played a private party in Cavendish, the band is very tight with Ben and Dave providing the driving rock beat, Adam and Nik complementing each other with rhythm and lead guitars and Andy blasting out the songs with his powerful vocals – another great gig.
We played a return gig at The Working Mens Club in Long Melford in October. The band then took some time out, we rehearsed, learnt some new songs and rearranged the set list. Adam bought himself a new Marshall amp set and we were raring to go for another gig at The Black Lion in Glemsford at the start of November.
A couple of gigs in November and Nik decided to buy himself a Marshall amp set to match Adams. More power for The Fallen! The gigs continued to get better and better. We now have a good following of people who turn up at our gigs. A great bunch who really enjoy what we do.
We ended 2006 with an excellent gig at The Red Lion in Bildeston. A loud band in a small pub we shook the dust from the beams in the ceiling and they want us back for more!
